Observation details
Chestnut-backed Sparrow-Larks (Eremopterix leucotis) prefer semi-arid short grassland, and in Kruger National Park are most common in areas with black soils. These adult Chestnut-backed Sparrow-Larks were feeding on seeds and on caterpillars that were attacking the leaves of a herb (Tribulus species) at Ngotso Dam carpark in Kruger National Park.
