Hooded Oriole female: posture and coloration suggest that this is a fledgling at our suet feeder
Observation details
A lot of Hooded Oriole activity at our nectar and suet feeders this week; at one time 4 different individuals were seen at the same time at the nectar feeders. It appears that fledglings are coming in small groups--and are awkward about landing and feeding from the nectar feeder. Females/juveniles vary in the intensity of yellow in their feathers; fledglings have more trouble landing on branches and feeder perches.
