Observation details
Western Corellas (Cacatua pastinator) are endemic to southern Western Australia. There are two races – the relatively common northern derbyi and the much rarer southern pastinator. These birds were part of a large flock that was feeding on the small seed capsules of River Gums (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) growing along the edge of Railway Terrace and the town golf course. Estimated flock at about 200 birds.
