Observation details
Kori Bustards (Ardeotis kori) are one of the world’s heaviest flying birds. They are usually uncommon and are found in dry open savanna in sub-Saharan Africa. This large male was wandering through a herd of Blue Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) while hunting for prey in shrubby grassland on the S28 Road in Kruger National Park. As we stopped to observe him, he began walking away in typical bustard fashion.
