Observation details
Mt Ord appears to be open. I birded as far as the cattle guard. Almost the entire mountain is burned. There are pockets of green areas that the fire skirted. This is where what few birds remain are. Many ravens. Some junipers remain. There is no cover for birds, no food for birds, So I believe most birds I saw were moving through. Listened in several spots for any usual birds. My surprise was a Juv Scott's Oriole on one of a few agave stalks with a bloom at the water tank just before cattle guard. There are a ton of bees and wasps looking for blooms and water. So when I get out of the car, they swarm me as I suspect they sensed my sweat . I had to use my car as a refuge. Be aware of the bees. I wanted to bird this place I love as this is new to me. Birding it as it will try to recover.
