Calls of a Crissal Thrasher (unseen) from the brushy back part of our side yard--with a dense patch of Apache Plum amid mesquites--toward the creek. Background includes: Bewick's Wren, Mourning Dove, Gambel's Quail, and a distant rooster. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
Heard only; giving its call persistently from the brushiest section of our yard--where there is Apache Plume amid mesquites and cacti. Not very common this far up the canyon.
