Observation details
Goliath Herons (Ardea goliath) are the world’s largest heron, and are found in low numbers in sub-Saharan Africa, Southwest and South Asia. Goliath Herons are closely associated with water – this heron was hunting along the edge of the rapidly flowing discharge from a culvert under the causeway across the Sabie River on the H10 road in Kruger National Park.
