Observation details
Large white patches on the ends of the outer tail feathers of an otherwise very dull hummer got Milena´s attention. Perched, no activity, mid-canopy for at least 15 minutes ignoring other hummers who came close (could have been resting during a migratory trip from coast to coast?). Short straight all black bill, dirty white below (white thighs), uniform green back and no wing patch. Small white marks behind and in front of eye. Attached photos are poor but show all of these features. Thanks to Steven and Harry (Rancho Naturalista guides) for their suggestions and support.
