Observation details
Bird was singing a slow trill of about 8-10 down-slurred notes: ‘tew- tew-tew...’ while remaining hidden in the edge of the Willows along the main road across from pool 5. The note sounded a lot like some shorebirds (Spotted Sandpiper, dowitjcher,, lesser yellowlegs), butI’m sure it was a songbird I listened to several recordings from the Peterson bird song guide, including prothonotary warbler, American redstart, and old reliables like tufted titmouse and Northern cardinal. None of these had the right sound.
