Media notes
Song and calls of Band-tailed Pigeons, of which around 60 birds are feeding at our seed. In between feeding they go up into the trees, and some are calling and are clearly paired. I saw attempted copulation this morning. The cut includes the mechanical flapping of the pigeon wings as they fly from one tree to another. Background includes: Blue-throated Mountain-gem, House Finch, Brown-crested Flycatcher, Mexican Jay, Mourning Dove, Rivoli's Hummingbird, Acorn Woodpecker, N. Cardinal.
Observation details
A minimum of 60, coming to our seed together, where they could be counted. Richard Webster estimated 75 for the day.
