Observation details
At least 3 males and 1 female. First flushed from the ground of gravel creek bed and later saw multiple in the air at once. Two males were repeatedly chasing a female around, and calling a very soft, bouncing “mew-ew-ew-ew,” (but not the “whir” trill call). Watched as one bird flew down and drank out of the creek mid-flight like a swallow. Photos of a perched male as well as some flight shots.
