Observation details
Continuing. Seems to have a territory a bit south of summit and slightly ne from cell tower. Sang off and on and was quite difficult to locate as it remained up high. Only seen briefly in over an hour plus of searching. Face markings as yesterday and only one brief glimpse of blue gray mantle. Song has a bit of buzzy quality that seem to be a Black-throated Gray quality to it, but also rather Townsend's Warbler-like. Though today was frustrating as to getting good looks, my looks yesterday have me now quite convinced that this is a hybrid of the two species. PLEASE SEE PHOTOGRAPHS OBTAINED AND UPLOADED ON JULY 2 TO MY GREEN MOUNTAIN SUBMISSION. This male warbler was initially submitted as warbler sp., but with photographs I am much more comfortable with submitting it as a hybrid.
