Observation details
Observed in recently burned, bottomland second-growth forest on Fort Bragg while moving between points on a bird survey. Song recorded. Soft, rolling phrases of sweet notes "weet weeta weeteo" and "weeta weteo" without the more emphatic, upslurred delivery and cadence of HOWA, and without the consistent phrasing of COYE. COYE singing simultaneously provided additional context. Perhaps a young male that lingered past spring migration.
