Observation details
Bird found 14 miles SW of island. First seen flying the classic slow "nighthawk" wing beat. Long winged and larger petrel recognized immediately. Boat chase at high speed as the bird zigzagged. It then started flying straight and allowed us to get next to it while I took some photos. Fun. Photos. Forked tail, long pointed wings, large beige carpal bars, dark brown overall. White rump narrow and not as pronounced as in WSPE. Feet extend only to tail tip, not beyond.
