Observation details
This is the same sea duck observed yesterday that was comingling with a flock of Long-tailed ducks. Was going to retract yesterday's ID as incorrect upon viewing photos today. A white wing patch is present on apparent female, but seems to lack white oval patches on face--appears only on end of bill. It's a large, dark duck with white wings. Head somewhat wedge-shaped. Thought a possible hybrid. But viewed a photo of a WWSC taken June 6 by an observer at nearby Breezy Tip, and looks similar to this one. Located at end of Breezy Beach, close to shoreline where Jetty begins. Time: appx. 10:40 am. Photos.
