Media notes
Behavior and other notes: Adult Carolina Wren, possibly a female, giving calls from the forest floor after just waking up. This bird stayed very close to the ground for the entire time I was recording it. Some of the vocalizations were of very low amplitude. It was too dark to see what this bird was doing and whether there was a conspecific with it. Recording Time: 0516 (UTC -4). Temperature 10C. Habitat: mixed deciduous woods. Distance to sound source: 5-9.5 meters first cut, 4 meters for the second cut. Specific location: Sleepy Creek WMA, just west of the ranger station, Berkeley Co., WV. Latitude 39.492747, Longitude -78.130028. Elevation 255 meters. ID’d by sight and sound; ID confidence 100%. Equipment notes: Recorder HPF on at 80Hz, -12dB/octave. Recordist's original filename: WH_20T1205-1206_Carolina Wren calls poss female_Berkeley Co WV_ML.wav
