Observation details
Large, grayish wader, roughly the size of nearby American Avocets but with straight bill. Gray legs. No pink on bill. Feeding on the rocky, muddy shoulder of the submerged road on the east shore of the lake. Vivid black and white wing stripes when it spread its wings on multiple occasions. Good looks from ~25 yards away with binoculars and scope. Cruddy pictures to follow (none with wings open). P1050799 shows cliff swallow for scale
