Media notes
BWHA mobbed by AMRO and BLJA, mainly. From 4:13.5-4:15 secs, a Blue Jay dove at the hawk forcing it to flee with its prey in its talons.
Observation details
After hearing quite a commotion in mixed woodland from excited AMRO and BLJA, I located a BWHA about halfway up a red maple. It had prey in its talons which appeared to be a young robin. For more than 5 mins, the robins and jays harassed it with the Blue Jays taking several swipes at the perched hawk. Recorded the woodland drama, either a tragedy for the robins or a triumph for the hawk, depending on how one looks at it. So it goes.
