Observation details
New island sighting for me and apparently first Spring record for this species on eBird. Bird found on middle road coming from ponds. Initially the bird was low in a choke cherry and I got a few pics. First thought Pewee by quickly noticed large size, vest, large bill, crest, and the fact that it was right out in open territory. The bird flew down the road but I was able to relocate it up high on a snag perched at the tip top. Perfect for OSFL. Got in good light to take more views and photos. All characteristics OSFL. To top it off it vocalized and confirmed. I played and recording of the call and it really started calling the "3-beers" call and searching for the source. Good looks for 15 minutes.
