Observation details
Good views of this third-for-county Blyth's Reed Warbler. Singing almost constantly and showed well, with patience. Small reed warbler with greyish olive-brown upperparts and whitish below with buffish wash to the sides of the breast emphasising a clear white throat. White supercilium particularly pronounced in front of the eye. Wing point very short and wing quite rounded. Constant mimetic song included sounds from Quail, House Sparrow among others, melodic sections interspersed with rattling clicks. Couldn't get a side view showing the folded wing, when it showed it was mainly head on.
