Observation details
Continuing bird seen by a number of people in recent days. I heard this CAVI singing loudly right at the parking lot as soon as I arrived. It was very high up in the tall cottonwoods. The song sounded just like the “Cassin’s Vireo A1” recording in iBird. They describe it as “a series of short rising and falling musical phrases.” After about 10 minutes it stopped and then would intermittently sing during the time I was there. It would also move up and down the slope between the parking lot and the main trail. After moving up and down the slope myself looking for it, I finally spotted it as I was preparing to leave. It was about halfway between the parking lot and the main trail on the trail that links the two. Did get a few photos but conditions were challenging and photos are of poor quality.
