Observation details
Second and final day. Began singing about 6:30 and continued off and on until about 10am. High clear song lacking burry quality comprised of paired notes made of typical vireo phrases - three-yu weet-ip. Atypical for a Red-eyed vireo song were intermittent pairs of weet notes - e.g. three-yu weet-weet - in the song. Also quite audible were single high pitch "sip" notes interspersed throughout the song. Obtained a number of recordings. The heavy overcast sky and gray light made viewing conditions poor again today so did not make any effort to get visual of the bird like yesterday. Always stayed high in the trees buried in leaves. Vic and Tom came over and heard the bird sing. Both saw it but views were reportedly unsatisfactory. Vic stated he saw a small gray bird with an ocular line and supercilium but no color but Tom seeing some yellow on throat or breast area.
