Observation details
Singing in neighbor's eucalyptus tree across the street. I didn't manage to see the bird, but got one faint recording of 4 or 5 song phrases (excuse recorder machine noise at outset, and 20 seconds at the end with no vocalizations). After I did my walk and returned, the bird was still singing from the same area, and was actually seen briefly as it foraged in a juniper. Olive above, silky white below, with an elongated face and bill for a vireo, a dark line through the eye,, plain olive wings, and a habit of keeping the tail cocked up at about a 30 degree angle. Clearly large for a vireo. I managed to get one more recording (the second one attached), again fairly faint as I didn't want to approach through my neighbor's yard. [I assume nobody will chase this bird since the twitchers all got their year bird at Ken Malloy Harbor Regional Park earlier, and I would stress that this bird is on private property.]
