Observation details
Continuing. Did not appear until 3:42 PM at which point it sang almost constantly for 20 minutes. Then fed silently around the drying pond edges until I left. Photos and audio recorded. Sex assumed by behavior: Cornell's Birds of the World says that only males are known to sing. Later accepted by Arizona Bird Committee as the first state record, and published by Blackford et al. in Arizona Birds 2021:1-4.
