Observation details
A tight flock of 9 birds, roosting and walking on the sandbar at or above the high tide line. Both adults and juveniles were present. None of the birds were marked with leg bands. Field marks included gray legs, black bill, impartial thin black collar. After we watched and photographed the group for about 5 minutes, the birds flew together (with a few Sanderlings) a short distance down to the shore as the tide had just begun to recede and expose extensive sandflats, at which point we turned our attention to counting other birds. Many photos. I do not know of any previous reports of this species from the Pacific coast of Honduras.
