Observation details
I saw a pair on the road at the marshy area as I approached, an adult and I think a fledged juvenile. I backed away about 20 yds where I could park. As I did, the adult followed me. When I got out, it started the distraction routine, including broken wing display. I assume the other was a juvenile because the adult was clearly trying to distract me from it. It could fly but didn't want to leave the area. There was water along the east side of the road with small black tadpoles. I think the juvenile was feeding on them.
