Media notes
I believe there were 2 GHO's in a cottonwood tree above me but only the juvenile left the tree and flew to another tree. I am not sure which bird called out, but the owl that called called at least 6- 8 times. I left shortly after making this brief recording. I might add that without the WS-R30 windscreen I could not record 80% of anything, my recorder picks up a lot of wind noise and renders the recording useless. But with the wind screen 90% of my recordings can get something ranging from good to fair, notice I did not say great.
Observation details
Juvenile flushed out of tree by me by accident, audio recording of I believe the juvenile calling but could be the parent? . This bird was verified by me about a month ago in nest with parent.last year 2 fledglings were in the nest. I believe the parent was nearby today but did not get a visual so I left the mature bird off the list. Call from the owl comes early and mid recording then silent, RWBB's and yellow warblers still dominate the recording.
