Observation details
I saw this blackbird in the northern part of Marl Bed Flats near the upper slough. It was flying over a wide open area of the flats away from trees. The bill and tail are too short for a Common Grackle, and the yellow eye rules out Red-winged Blackbird. The bird appears to lack any rusty coloration, and the bill seems rather thick and straight. However, the photo was taken from so far away it's difficult to rule out Rusty Blackbird conclusively.
