Observation details
Seen with 9 Whimbrel. First noticed in flight. Clear light rust rump. Teeeuu weiiii call note also heard. In proximity with Whimbrel it was a brighter straw tone contrasting with darker feathers. Head markings were less contrasting, breast had pectoral like line where streaking terminated. Bill and legs were slightly thicker. The bird appeared more robust and heavier than the Whimbrel.
