Media notes
Banded bird, red band on leg K2A reported, banded as Juvenile this summer in Maine.
Observation details
One immature bird banded on left leg with red band marked K2A, and on right leg with Federal aluminum band with partial numbers . . . 58636 . . . Banded bird info submitted to USGS banding reports. I got data back from banding folks in Bar Harbor, MN that this bird was banded on Great Duck Island, Maine during the summer of 2015. This Island is 12 miles south of Mt Desert Island/Acadia National Park. So this bird has traveled a long way from NE Maine Coast to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi since last summer. They said this was the first reported sighting of one of their birds in MS. Pretty neat and well-travelled young bird.
