Observation details

Continuing bird on sod farm, third field down the road. Spotted walking across the field. Gives the impression of a dove. Tall and slender with an upright posture and small round head. Long tail held down, does not flick or bob tail. Pale (translucent-ish) pink legs. Large dark eyes stand out from pale face. White eyering with suggestion of teardrop, buffy area across side of face. Some patterning on head. When it momentarily spread its wings and tail a bit I could see that at least the outer two feathers of the tail were pure white and I think there was some white in the wing also. At first glance through the scope the breast and belly appeared pale and completely unmarked. Later, at a closer distance, could barely see fine streaking at the top of the chest. Back just above tail appeared a somewhat deeper, warmer, chestnut-y brown. Distant scope views.
