Media notes
Not an ovenbird as it had no crown stripes. GCTH can have white or mottled throats. The bird was a dark olive with very dark mottling on the breast and an overall thrush body shape.
Observation details
Along the unpaved Mine Creek Trail, on the way back, shortly before the 4-mile marker and Sawmill Road. In dense underbrush, dark olive bird with dark spots fading along the underside. Good side and front views to confirm it was not an Ovenbird (warbler) nor a Swainson's Thrush nor Wood Thrush. Silent and did not respond to any thrush calls. Seen on ground first, then perched motionless behind leaves.
