Media notes
Recording equipment provided by Borror Laboratory of Bioacoustics, where original 30-min cassette is deposited. A copy of that tape was digitized by me with playback on a Panasonic RQ-A200 ported out of the headphone jack to the LineIn2 jack of a Marantz PMD661 MkII, which recorded the input in wav format at 96k. I extracted this cut from the tape file with Signal Sound Analysis software, and saved it in wav format for upload to eBird. This species is ubiquitous at JZG. BLB determined species to be Blyth's type, which was probably right in 1991. Seems to match ML samples of Claudia's best.
Observation details
See media notes. BLB edits referred to multiple examples of these songs as "Blyth's type," which was probably intended to capture the variation now explicit in the species split out from Blyth's sensu lato.
