NOTES: 29APR74-05MAY74. FLOOD-PLAIN PASTURES WITH HEDGEROWS, SCATTERED TALL TREES, AND REMNANT OF FLOOD-PLAIN FOREST. HERE ARE PRESENTED SOME MISCELLANEOUS SOUNDS PRODUCED BY M. AURIFRONS. THE CHISELING SOUNDS WERE PRODUCED WHEN FEEDING. THE TAPPING SOUNDS SEEM TO HAVE BEEN PRODUCED WHEN A BIRD WAS SEARCHING FOR A RESONANT LIMB ON WHICH TO DRUM. THE REMAINDER OF THE SOUNDS ARE VOCALIZATIONS. THIS SPECIES IS VERY VOCAL BUT RECORDING IS DIFFICULT BECAUSE VOCALIZATIONS CANNOT BE ANTICIPATED AND THE BIR BNA: Tapping can be heard as well as possibly the "Tsuka-Tsuka" call, followed by the "Churr Call." CZ 23/02/2004. Other Behaviors: Bill Drumming.
