Observation details
Estimate, but not an overestimate. The first photo is the sole one we have of them arriving at 17:34, when they dispersed around the lake to feed. We watched them fly in as one flock from a northerly direction and heard a ‘chip-chip-chip’ call as they approached. Slender, long-legged plover with buffy upperbreast and whitish brow and underparts, often observed standing very upright. They were still present when we had to leave just before 18:00 (Oct. 11th 2018). We went back early the next morning but they were no longer present.
