Observation details
*unusual; apparently a different bird than seen on 4/16/20, however it does bear a striking resemblance. First stood out as a bird that had a mantle color intermediate between LBBG and HERG, being just slightly bigger than nearby adult LBBGs. Structurally, the bird appeared to be more in-line towards HERG, with a fairly squat body (not slender) and square head. In fact, upon closer inspection at the head now on the computer, I feel like maybe there could have been a slight deformity there having to do with the skin around the bill? Did not really notice this feature in the field. Legs a peachy-yellow, supporting a hybrid, as does the apparently orange-ish orbital ring, which would be intermediate between the scarlet of LBBG and the yellow-orange of HERG. Bill appeared long, with a fairly sharp gonyl angle and black markings present on both mandibles. Eye color a yellow-white. Primary pattern similar to the hybrid bird I had on 4/16, with two small mirrors present on P10 and P9, with a fairly thin subterminal band on P5. Slender white tongues to outer primaries, the black of the primary coverts contrasting with the dark-gray of the secondary feathers.
