Comments

Habitat: Wet, tropical, montane, cloudforest. Note: ?Adult Male. ?Advertising. ?Territorial. the woodcock did its song flight over the forest canopy at the first light of dawn and last light of dusk and never at any other time. Its flight lasted about 5 minutes during which the bird would speedily fly back and forth just above the tree tops calling continuously. These flights would take it out of hearing range temporarily but it would return shortly. Recorded 21, 22Sept1974. Equipment Notes: Field tape is Scotch 211. Recorded without reflector.
