Media notes

-1.083333333, -69.53333333. 6:30 AM. 13 June 2006. Edge of igapó forest. Bird first heard in the distance. I called it in using a commercial recording of the species and this recording is the response to playback. Bird sat 6-7 m above the ground right above my head. Lots of birds came mobbing and with the help of Dan Lane and Vitor Piacentini we can now (22 April 2020) hear at least 7 species mobbing. At the moment I saw Euphonia rufiventris, Myrmotherula brachyura and Tangara schrankii. Most birds I did not see.

Additional species

  • Rufous-bellied Euphonia Euphonia rufiventris
  • Slender-footed Tyrannulet Zimmerius gracilipes
  • Pygmy Antwren Myrmotherula brachyura
  • Spot-backed Antwren Herpsilochmus dorsimaculatus
  • Speckled Spinetail Thripophaga gutturata
  • White-chinned Jacamar Galbula tombacea
  • Green-and-gold Tanager Tangara schrankii
