Observation details

Pair of individuals spotted swimming in open water off coast of beach. Seen often diving below surface many times to feed. Distinctive long, curled tail feathers. Black plumage on back, wings, tail, and head, and white plumage on wings and around eyes. Displayed interesting inverse color plumage due to impending breeding season.
