Observation details
Rare locally. White shorebird with thick dark throat stripe and wings darker than body. Scoped from 480 yards away while stuck in a thunderstorm at Cell 2 platform overlooking prairie. Bird was SSE of the platform, spotted while scoping LBDO. It stuck out to me because it was so pale and it was foraging very actively, doing the classic Phalarope twirl in some shallows. ID confirmed by Rex Rowan after he arrived. New lifer! My 197th species observed in Alachua County in 2020. Poor photos, but video shows distinctive foraging behavior well
