Media notes
I saw this bird before it began recording, after it approached in response to my imitation of its “spish” call. when I recorded it, the bird was initially about 8 meters and 3 meters up, but in the second part it was probably 15-18 meters away and 2-4 meters up. When it came in I saw it on a large trunk, first fairly low (3-5 meters up) but then moving up to about 10 meters above the ground (though it was lower than this when I was recording). There seemed to be only one bird at the time, and it did seem to call more frequently after my imitation. The weather conditions with the same as before [almost perfectly clear, calm, humid, 84° F], except that the sun was no longer in the forest understory, though it was still in the treetops. Equipment Notes: Sennheiser powered using phantom power and with filter in flat position and attenuator off for all recordings. Nagra input set at 2 mV / Pa and low-pass filter in flat position unless noted otherwise.
