Observation details
Since 2018 we have had a male and a female hawk come to our garden. This one flies around a Brandon cedar scaring the songbirds inside. This particular day he caught a songbird and had been plucking it on his plucking post. That is the photo to the right. When he is getting ready to leave he will sit with his back to me and gently turn his head to see me. On occasion, he will sit in the lilacs pretending to be a bird feeder. They normally fly through our garden 3-4 times per week, perhaps more and we do not see them. They appear to be here all year.
