Observation details
A single bird was found flying in the sky. At first it was seen at a very low altitude as if it just flew of a nearby tree and it rapidly gained height. The bird was seen soaring and feeding on insects in flight, for about 20 minutes. A brahminy kite tried to chase it and later it flew out of my vision. At first i was of the assumption that it is a juvenile female amur falcon, but later discussion in birdwatchers of kerala (a facebook group) concluded it as a Eurasian Hobby. The confirmation was by Praveen Jayadevan with the help of Mike Prince. Interestingly this is the first confirmed sighting of Eurasian Hobby from the State of Kerala
