Observation details
*Rare* Found by Steve Walter this morning around the vicinity of the eastern exit to WE2 Presumably a juv bird - dark tip not present on tail. Very pale overall with whitish throat and muted yellowish underparts. Rufous edges to primaries, pale off white edging to secondaries, and white edges to tertials - maybe just a bit brighter than I'd expect. Pale base to lower mandible noticed on a front-on view - usually a characteristic of Great-crested, but everything else seems indicative of an Ash-throat. Labored flight over long distances - observe twice in longish flights. Last seen at dusk at edge of phrag stand immediately N of eastern exit to WE2.
