Observation details

Matt White had (re)discovered this bird the day prior and let me know for my big year. I drove overnight from the Panhandle and joined up with Matt early afternoon where he quickly got us on the bird. TBRC documented records on this lake for 5 consecutive winters from Feb 1996 to Feb 2000 and then this bird was perhaps the same one. Submitted photos as part of this accepted record: 15-21 Nov 2003 Cooper Lake, DEL/HOP (TBRC 2004-8; TPRF 2182) Photos distant crops but you can make out dark red legs and reddish bill with black tip.
