Media notes
Gave the call while she was coming in for a landing and while perched. Doesn't match the few other calls of Merlin's that I have listened to, but I saw her do it.
Observation details
Female (brown back). Streaked front and neck but fairly light overall and no mustache. First thought was a Sharpie bc I didn’t expect a Merlin, but it didn’t feel right and when it flew it had falcon shaped wings and quick, snappy wing beats coming from the base of the wing. Came from the east and perched on the eastern utility pole at the edge of our fence. Briefly called as she flew in. Didn’t stay long before she flew off to the east and joined another soaring Merlin.
