Observation details
***Very Rare*** jus-type, superficially resembling a cowbird at first glance (as opposed to a Rusty). However, upon closer study, many field marks noted were unique from either of these species. The straight culmen, dark iris, dull brown plumage with no distinct streaking are all indicative of Brewer's. Structural and behavioral differences stood out as well. Bill appeared rather heavy, esp. as compared with Rusties seen later, but not as chunky as a cowbird. Held tail cocked upward and wings held below body went active. At times, when stationary, it appeared more upright than a Rusty or cowbird would be (but this characteristic is a bit subjective). It appeared to have a "dainty" gate (as phrased by AB). Spent almost entire time of observation, foraging through the horse droppings around the pasture.
