Observation details
Fantastic sightings. One adult and one assumed juvenile. Seen about 200 yards apart. Both seen by the full Rockjumper group both perched in the trees and flying short distances around the stream on the trail that starts at the overlook and heads back to the picnic grounds. Very shy, but seen well. Adult was seen first, along stream, then flew up into the trees. Saw it perched three times in between short flights. Juvenile seen slightly further down the trail. Bulky bittern with heavy barring underneath.
