Observation details
The distant pointy winged forms scything across the skyline were not Peregrines, as my perspective came right... SWIFTS!! A loose but very healthy flock of Swifts!! Again, they were almost alien in their shape and speed, hurtling along with barely any movement, almost silent but for that wonderful swoosh from the closest birds... the Swift is such an underrated bird!! I don't think I've ever seen them so late in the season; they are, after all, the epitome of "last to come, first to leave"... make that twenty seven swifts; three more just went past!! It was also fascinating how the "storm front" thing held true here, for the second it started raining the birds vanished... but when it tailed off the next four came through!
