Observation details
First observation at 1238. 1 counted on property. 1 individual(s) singing. Initially heard singing while perched in the chokecherry row south of reach 3. Heard high-pitched calls vaguely reminiscent of a soprano magpie, then gurgles very similar to TRES calls but longer in duration and stationary. The shrike was apparently on the far side of the chokecherries and we did not see it until we approached and it flew up to the top, then NE into reach 4 along the stream. Observed it perching in the top of chokecherries and the box-elder north of the stream, dropping down to the ground several times, hunting. Heard one more brief bout of singing. Detections (number 15-minute intervals in which the species was detected): 3 on property.
